Specification

The cable layers consist of sections of a track chain. The track chain contains half-links, which, in the folded state, form a channel for cables and hoses. One end of the chain is hinge-mounted to the combine, and the chain is laid in a trough fixed on the loading side of the scraper conveyor. The other end of the cable layer rests freely in the trough.

When the combine is at the lower or upper heading, the track chain is laid in the trough in a single layer from the middle of the seam to the combine. As the combine moves from the extreme position toward the center of the seam, the chain bends and is pulled along by the combine. When the combine reaches the second extreme position in the seam, the track chain moves into the second half of the trough, and the chain loop straightens.
